"At Risk" Middle School Young Scholars

科罗拉多矿业学院将为7年级和8年级的30名学生启动一个为期三周的夏季住宿青年学者数学项目。这个项目是为处于危险中的中学生设计的。重点是合作学习环境下的数学问题解决和计算。在计算机课上使用LOGO，练习包括镶嵌，自然设计的创造，以及指导LOGO机器人。年轻的学者在一位来自at&t贝尔实验室的专业导师的指导下完成一个研究项目。实地考察，职业探索，教育愿望和道德是该计划的组成部分

9553529 Boes The Colorado School of Mines will initiate a three-week, summer residential, Young Scholars project in mathematics for 30 students entering grades 7 and 8. The project is for at risk middle school students. lEmophasis is on mathematical poroblem sovling and computing in a cooperativelearning environment. LOGO is used in the computing class with exercises including tessellation's, creatiion of natural designs, and to direct logo robots. The youn scholars complete a research project under the supervision of a mentor who is a professional at AT&T Bell Labs. Field trips, career exploratiion, educaiton aspiratiions, and ethics are ain integral part of the program
