OISE 05-36900Taylor, AlanNational Bureau of Economic Research, Inc.This awards supports two US-UK workshops that will bring together geographically and disciplinary dispersed groups of researchers to examine the evolution of the global economy. The co-organizers of the workshops are Dr. Alan Taylor from the National Bureau of Economic Research, Inc. in Boston and Dr. Kevin O'Rourke from the Center for Economic Policy Research in London. The primary goal of the workshops is to allow US-EU cooperation in developing and expanding a research program and scholarly network among economists and economic historians studying global economic history. The creation of a critical mass of scholars in this area will provide an important resource available to contribute to contemporary debates concerning economic development, institutional change, and economic policy. This workshop fulfills the program objectives of bringing together leading experts in the US and Europe to combine complementary efforts and capabilities in areas of strong mutual interest and competence on the basis of equality, reciprocity, and mutuality of benefit.
Oise 05-36900 Taylor,AlanNational Bureau of Economic Research,Inc.
