当該年度において、研究代表者は、札幌農学校について、講義時間割や講義分担表、講義を記録した受講ノートなどに基づき、1876年の開校からしばらくは数人の外国人教師が専門学科を担ったが、後に第1期生佐藤昌介をはじめとする卒業生中心の教授陣に移行していったことを示した。その過程で「農学」、「植物学」など大括りであった専門学科が分化していき、教授陣がより専門的な知見を有する研究者となったこと、さらに1894年には3、4年級の農学校生が5つのコース（1896年からは6コース）から専攻分野を選択する実科演習制度を導入したことを明らかにした。実科演習制度は札幌農学校で独自に制度展開を見せ、後の学科・講座制度の出発点となって、東北帝国大学農科大学及び北海道帝国大学農学部の組織編成の基底となったと言える。研究分担者は、札幌農学校・東北帝国大学農科大学・北海道帝国大学農科大学（後に農学部）が、「文部省外国留学生」制度をどのように運用したのかを、文部省直轄学校となった1895年4月から、「文部省在学研究員」制度に変わる1920年9月までを対象時期として、文部省外国留学生の一覧を作成して考察した。その結果、「文部省外国留学生」制度は、①札幌農学校の本科の教授候補者、②農科大学の講座担任及びその教授候補者、③新設の付設課程（土木工学科、水産学科等）の教授候補者に主に運用されたことが判明した。そして、派遣の時期・背景・研究分野等の分析から、札幌農学校の本科の6つの実科演習（農学甲科、農学乙科、農芸化学、農業経済学、植物病理学、農用動物学）が東北帝国大学農科大学の新設講座の基盤となり、主宰した教官（南鷹次郎、橋本左五郎、吉井豊造、佐藤昌介、宮部金吾等）の研究分野が新設講座・後継者に細分化されて引き継がれ、学術的な系譜として連なることを明らかにした。

When the year began, the research representatives were invited to the Sapporo Agricultural School, the lecture schedule, the lecture sharing table, the lecture record, the lecture base, the opening of the school in 1876, and several foreign teachers were invited to participate in various disciplines. Later, the 1st student, Masake Sato, was invited to graduate. In 1894, students of agricultural schools in the third and fourth grades (from 1896 to 1896) began to study and practice in the fields of agriculture and botany. Sapporo Agricultural College is the only institution that has been developed, and the foundation of the organization of the Department of Agriculture of Tohoku Imperial University and Hokkaido Imperial University is the development of the discipline and lecture system. Research collaborators: Sapporo Agricultural School, Tohoku Imperial University Agricultural College, Hokkaido Imperial University Agricultural College (later Faculty of Agriculture), Ministry of Education Foreign Student System, Ministry of Education Schools, April 1895, Ministry of Education Research Fellow System, September 1920, Ministry of Education Foreign Student List. As a result, the Ministry of Education Foreign Student System is applicable to (1) undergraduate professorship candidates at Sapporo Agricultural School,(2) lecturers and professorship candidates at agricultural universities, and (3) professorship candidates for newly established courses (civil engineering, fisheries, etc.). Analysis of Sapporo Agricultural School's undergraduate course 6 years ago (Agronomy A, Agronomy B, Agricultural Chemistry, Agricultural Economics, Plant Pathology, Agricultural Zoology) New Lectures at Tohoku Imperial University, Master Lecturers (Minamitaka Jiro, Hashimoto Sagoro, Yoshii Toyozo, Sato Masusuke, Miyabe Kingo, etc.)
