今年度の研究調査は、実地調査、一次史料ならびに二次文献の分析・整理、そして研究成果の公表を中心に進められた。2022年9月に実地調査をジョージア州アトランタとノースカロライナ州ハムレットにて実施した。アトランタでは、フルトン郡公立図書館にて行政文書に関する調査に従事した。さらに、ノースカロライナ州ハムレットでは、都市化の裏で進展した農村部の「ゲットー化」の現状について、1991年に発生した食肉加工工場跡の記念碑等に関する分析を中心に調査を行った。研究成果の公開に関しては、アメリカ学会の英文学会誌に" 'A Must for Atlanta's Future': Metropolitan Atlanta and the Rapid Transit Idea, 1963-65" を掲載した。「大きな政府」の象徴とも言え、低所得者層の交通手段としての役割を果たす公共交通機関の設置が、保守ジョージア州での都市のアトランタで実現した理由の一つを示した本論文は、「革新的」な開発を分析する本プロジェクトの基盤となる成果だと位置づけられよう。資料整理に関しては、すでに入手済みの新聞史料や全国家事労働者組合の文書を読み進めた。とりわけ、革新的な都市開発の受益者と想定されたマイノリティがどのように公共交通機関の設置にかかわったのかについて調査を進めた。また、二次文献については、研究動向を適宜調べ、入手し、新潮流の把握に努めた。
