项目摘要

本研究の目的は、日本の大学に留学している異なる立場の留学生（学部留学生・大学院留学生・交換留学生）の「社会ネットワーク」「言語使用状況」「日本語能力」を分析し、留学中の他者との関わりと言語使用状況が言語習得プロセスにどのように影響するかを考察することである。社会ネットワーク分析（Social Network Analysis）を用いることで、留学生の人間関係を図式化し、その変化を可視化することが可能となる。その社会ネットワークデータの収集とともに、留学生が日常生活でだれとどの言語を用いているのかを記録し、言語インプットや他者との意味交渉で使われる言語の質と量を分析する。さらには、留学開始時、途中、終了時の日本語能力の測定を実施し、日本語能力の変化も分析対象とする。長期的にデータを集めることでこれまでは見えてこなかった社会ネットワークと言語習得の関連性を導き出すのが狙いである。2022年度は、2021年度から調査に参加している留学生のデータを継続して収集することが可能となった。一方、同じく2021年度にデータ収集を開始した大学院生が途中で調査参加の継続ができなくなったため、2022年度に新たに大学院生１名のデータ収集を開始した。また、交換留学プログラムが本格的に再開し、2名の交換留学生のデータ収集を終えることができた。データ分析の途中経過の報告として、留学生教育学会（2022年8月）にて発表を行なった。さらには、社会ネットワーク分析についての研究会を立ち上げることを視野に入れ、関連分野の研究を行っている研究者らとの勉強会を実施、本研究にも貴重な意見をもらうことができた。
