项目摘要

昨年度調査をおこなった4名に加え、新たに2名の中国人研修生に母語でインタビューをおこない、現在の研修生活や帰国後の希望、日本語学習についての希望などを尋ねた。また彼女たちが参加している地域日本語教室での学習活動を録音し、日本語教室における学習と習得の状況を調べた。一方、彼女たちが研修をおこなっている企業の現場指導担当者にもインタビューをおこない、研修生とのコミュニケーションにおいて感じていることなどを尋ねた。さらに、日本語教室を運営する財団職員や教室の講師にもインタビューをおこない、研修生の地域における日本語学習について考えを聞いた。これらの調査資料をもとに、詳細な分析をおこなった。まず、研修生の語りをもとに、研修生が自己と日本語学習をどのように位置づけているのかを探った。その結果、個々の研修生において、現在の生活や将来の描き方、日本語学習の位置づけ、自己のカテゴリーの位置づけが相互に関連し、包括的に「自己」が構築されていることが明らかになった。また、研修生の地域日本語教室における学習場面を、プライベートスピーチと援助をめぐる相互作用の観点から分析し、学びの姿をとらえた。そこにはプライベートスピーチを用いて思考したり、互いに援助しあったり、援助を受けて自らのパフォーマンスを変化させたりする動的な学習の過程が見られた。また学びを促進する効果的な援助や学びに寄与する参加者間の相互作用のタイプも明らかにした。さらに、研修生と日本語教室の担当職員や講師、研修生の受け入れ企業の担当者の語りを照らし合わせ、研修生の日本語と、地域日本語教室の「場」がどのように語られ、構築されているかを見た。参与者間で構築のされ方は異なっていたが、日本語教室で自らの「学習ニーズ」とは異なる意義を他者との間に共有した研修生もいた。以上のことから、研修生や他のさまざまな背景を持った人たちが集まる地域の日本語活動の場について、参加者の持つさまざまな文脈に目を向けること、学習者に合わせて支援の方法を変えていくこと、参与者に共有されているその場の意義を伝え合いながら場を構築していくこと、の3点を提案した。研究成果は2度の学会発表および報告書にまとめた。
