2022年度は、独ケルン大学と英マンチェスター大学で開催された二つの国際学会・会議に参加し、研究の一端を発表することができた。ドイツでは特に、「核」をテーマに世界各地から集まった研究者と有意義な意見交換ならびに交流を行うことができた。また、イギリスに行った際にはロンドン近郊リッチモンドにある公文書でも調査を行い、新たに史料を発掘することができた。海外渡航がようやくできるようになり、調査も再開できる見通した立ったことを喜んでいる。まだ未出版ではあるが、論文も一本完成させているほか、英公文書館で入手した史料を用いたあらたな論文も執筆中である。それらに加えて2023年度に行うアメリカでの調査を元にして書く予定の論文と、すでに出版している関連論文をまとめて、書籍化に向けて動き出したいと考えている。2023年度には、アメリカ人作家を招いたシンポジウムと研究会を開催する予定もある。2022年2月に始まったロシアのウクライナ侵攻によって新冷戦が加速し、ロシアのプーチン大統領は今年3月には隣国ベラルーシと戦術核兵器の配備について合意した。核の脅威が高まる中、このシンポジウムを、研究者のみならず、学生や一般市民の原爆関連作品や被爆者の経験や思いに対する関心を高める機会にできればと考えている。引き続き、先行研究の読み込みと一次史料の分析、論文執筆ならびに出版準備に邁進していく所存である。アメリカの公文書館はコロナ前とは勝手も異なっているということなので、効率よく調査できるよう万全を期したいと考えている。
