研究計画3年目である令和4年度は、昨年度の研究内容を発展させるための調査を実施した。高等教育の質保証の枠踏みにおける教員評価制度の調査をさらに進め、日米の教員評価制度の相違に関する研究を深めた。さらに、教員評価とFDの関連性に関する研究を進め、教員評価に係るFDを題材にした論文が国際誌にて掲載予定である。(1)昨年度に実施した米国大学での教員評価制度に関する調査をさらに深化させるため、米国実地調査の経験のある国内研究者を訪問した。米国における教員評価制度の機能や目的に関する理解を深めるとともに、来年度に実施予定の米国訪問調査に役立つ情報を収集することができた。具体的には、米国の大学におけるテニュア審査やその基準、さらに教員評価における教育力の評価に関する米国の近年の動向に関する情報を収集することができた。調査結果を基に、来年度の米国訪問調査の研究内容を精査することができた。(2)令和2年度にプロシーディングとして発表した日本の大学におけるFDに関する研究をさらに進め、その研究成果を論文としてまとめた。Ozeki et al. (印刷中)「Examining the Key Components of Faculty Development to Advance Japanese Higher Education: A Qualitative Study」International Journal of Institutional Research and Management. 本論文では、高等教育におけるFDの今後の在るべき形に関して、日本の大学から収集したデータの質的データに焦点を当て分析し、その結果をまとめた。本論文では、教員の能力を開発するためのFDにおける重要テーマを特定し、教員能力開発の動機につながる包括的な教員評価の必要性について論じた。
