项目摘要

ワーキングメモリとは、様々な心的活動において一時的に必要情報を保持する記憶の働きを指す。この記憶機能をトレーニングすることで、心的活動が促進されるであろうと期待されていたが、そうしたトレーニングの効果は極めて限定的であることが報告されている。また、理論的には、トレーニングの実施により、別の心的活動が低下すること予測されている。本研究では、このワーキングメモリ・トレーニングの「負の効果」の存在を検証することから始め、心的機能に対するトレーニングの考え方を根本から変える新しい心理学理論の体系化に挑戦することを目的としている。2020年度には、ワーキングメモリ・トレーニングの「負の効果」の存在を確認し、さらにその転移の方向の非対称性を、2段階トレーニング法を用いて発見した。2021年度には、この負の転移効果のメカニズムを探るため、３段階トレーニングプログラムを開発し、実施した。この３段階トレーニングは3日間のトレーニングを3回（合計９日間）行うものであり、参加者の疲労などもあるものと考えられ、やや曖昧な結果が得られた。2022年度の大きな成果は、ワーキングメモリ・トレーニングの「負の効果」を示すデータに基づいた国際共著論文を執筆、投稿し、審査、改稿を経てMemory & Cognitionという国際主要雑誌に採択されたことにある。この改稿過程において、新たな観点から議論をまとめることができ、大きな理論的な進展があった。また、音楽-運動活動による認知トレーニングが子どもの抑制機能を促進するという結果も、学術論文として報告し、トレーニングの負の効果と正の効果を包括的に説明できる枠組みの構築を進めてきた。
