当研究は指定管理者制度を導入している公共図書館の公共の場としての建築空間・計画を研究対象としている。特にカルチュラルコンビニエンスクラブ（以後CCC）が指定管理者として管理・運営する公共図書館（申請時には全国で６館、本報告書を作成時には８館が開館、２館が計画されている）を中心に公共サービスを提供する空間、商業的サービスを提供する空間との関係を明らかにする。２０２１年度にはCCCが指定管理者として管理・運営する公共図書館４館（多賀城、海老名、高梁、周南）を写真撮影および実測を３Ｄ計測技術を用いて行った。２０２２年度にはCCCが指定管理者となっている公共図書館との比較調査として近年に開館された公共図書館、特に複合施設として開館された５案件の実測を３Ｄ計測技術を用いて行った。さらに、３Ｄ計測によって得られたデータを利用して外部協力者と合わせてスペースシンタックスの理論にもとづき空間解析を行った。空間解析ではことなる視線の高さを基準に２次元、および３次元での解析を行い、図示化が終了している。

In 2022, CCC appointed the administrator to conduct a comparative survey of public libraries and special facilities opened in recent years, and 5 cases of 3D measurement technology were tested. The 3D measurement is based on the theory of space analysis. Spatial analysis is based on the height of the line of sight in the second dimension, the third dimension, and the end of the analysis.
