项目摘要

昨年度２月から今年度２月まで、ウィーン大学（オーストリア）を中心に、ヨーロッパで研究を行ってきた。海外研究期間中には、中央ヨーロッパの３か国の４大学において質問紙調査及びフォーカス・グループ・インタビュー調査を実施した。新型コロナウィルス感染の影響に伴う海外渡航の規制が徐々に緩和していたが、日本（または中国と韓国）への留学経験した在学生が限られていたため、当初計画していた調査方法を工夫し、それぞれの国に関して大学で専攻している学生を対象にして、留学同機の有無や留学の価値を中心にした質問紙調査とグループ・インタビューを実施した。本研究では、調査設計、データ収集方法やデータ分析においては、ウィーン大学の共同研究者とともに研究を行い、データ収集や情報提供に関してはその他の３大学（チェコ及びスロバキア）の研究者にも協力をしていただいた。また、当初の計画より対象を拡大し、日本（語）コース履修生に加えて中国（語）及び韓国（語）コース履修生も含めた。ほかの東アジア諸国へ留学を検討する大学生を含めることにより、日本への留学の動機をさらに吟味することができ、留学動機の多次元性と多様性をより深く理解することができる。上記の大学生調査に加え、当初計画していた日本在留経験者（２年以上）のインタビュー調査をヨーロッパ諸国において実施し、その初期結果を学会等で発表した。その結果、ヨーロッパ系日本在留者（または在留経験者）の移動同期及び日本での定住と帰国の選択の形成要因の理解へ貢献することができたと考えられる。
