项目摘要

■令和4年度は、年度初めに「今後の研究の推進方針」で記した通り、これまでに刊行準備を進めてきた書籍『日本軍政下ジャワの華僑社会―『共栄報』にみる統制と動員』の原稿の加筆修正・校正を行い、2月に刊行した。独立期のインドネシア（特にジャワ）の華僑華人社会の実態解明を進めるためには、それに先立つ日本軍政期における彼らの歴史経験が大きな画期となっている。ただし、史資料の決定的欠落から、その軍政期の華僑社会にまつわる従来の歴史記述は（ごく一部の例外を除けば）、後にインドネシア独立という形で一応達成されたインドネシア・ナショナリズムの観点から逆算的に記述するか、あるいはごく限られたエピソードを武勇伝的に語るような類のものが主流をなしてきた。これに対し本書は、日本軍政期を通じてジャワ華僑を対象に発行が続けられた『共栄報（Kung Yung Pao）』の紙面を批判的に検討する作業を通じ、「インドネシア華僑華人史のミッシングリンク」と言われてきたこの過酷な時代の華僑社会の経験を、時系列に沿って実証的・包括的に描き出したものである。本書の随所（特に終章）では、『共栄報』の戦後における後継紙である『民報（Min Pao）』、および華僑系各種団体の記念誌・名簿類の分析等を通して、軍政期と独立期（および軍政期に先立つオランダ植民地期末期）との間でジャワ（特に首都バタヴィア＝ジャカルタ）の華僑社会の組織（主要役員）の構成がどのように断絶・継続しているのかを、具体的に明らかにしている。■上記書籍刊行に加え、令和4年度中の本研究課題に関わる研究成果としては、国際研究集会で1件の口頭発表（基調講演）を行い、また1件の書評（新刊紹介）を執筆している。
