本研究は、4種類のフィールドワーク（FW01～04、01歴史制度分析、02現況分析、03テーマ調査、04「周辺域」地図）を特徴としている。昨年度同様、コロナ禍のため現地調査、特に農村部への立ち入りは難しく、いずれのFWも断念した。特に、当初、研究協力を依頼していたメンバーが亡くなり（R.B.Singh）、研究協力体制を再構築するところから始めなければならなくなった。幸い、二国間交流事業セミナー（令和4年度申請、1年間延期。課題番号JPJSBP_220217901）を実施することができ（令和5年3月）、参加メンバーに調査協力の依頼をすることができた。なお、昨年度に続いて、集落モノグラフの確認及び内容分析を進めている。
