项目摘要

10月25日に、京都文化博物館別館ホールにて、東欧ユダヤ音楽クレズマー演奏会「ウクライナのクレズマー」を催した。当公演では、20世紀初頭に民俗学者のズスマン・キセルゴフが白ロシアのシュテットルでのフィールド調査で収集したクレズマー音楽の中から当時インフォーマントとして調査に協力したクレズマー楽師コメディエント・モイセイ・ゲルシュコヴィチから提供された約150曲の楽曲の中から結婚式で実際に演奏されていた13曲を厳選し、各楽曲が演奏された場面とその意味について分析した成果を生演奏と共に紹介し、聴衆と共有することが出来た。2月23日には、米国からイディッシュ・ヴァイオリンの世界的演奏家で作曲家のスティーヴン・グリーンマン氏を招聘し、彼が2018年に作曲した「ソロ・ヴァイオリンとオーケストラのためのクレズマー・コンサート組曲」全18曲を両国のシアターカイにて日本を代表するプロ演奏家ら7名による編成で日本初演した。この組曲はシュテットルでの結婚式の各場面で演奏される楽曲（ドブラノチュ、ホーシドル、フレイラハスなど）を、伝統的な形式をベースに、グリーンマン氏自身が創作したものである。2日間のリハーサルでは結婚式を彩ったイディッシュ音楽の特徴について共演者と情報共有を行いつつ理解を深めた。本番では110名の聴衆が参加し、楽曲解説と実際の演奏を提供した。終演後の質疑では熱心な質問が相次ぎ、グリーンマン氏や出演者らが約1時間にわたり応答した。2月24～26日にはシアターカイにてグリーンマン氏と吉田佐由美氏による東欧ユダヤ音楽ワークショップを開催し、16名が参加した。クレズマー音楽とイディッシュ・ダンスに関する充実した授業を行い、最終日には参加者による発表会で学習した楽曲やダンスを公開発表した。
