18世紀ブリテン思想史と社会的影響力の両面において枢要でありながら、今日、本国でも忘れられた神学者、思想家となったJ. Butler（1692-1752）を再発掘することが本科研費研究の課題である。期間を延長した2022年度も前年に引き続き、「バトラー研究会」をコロナ禍のためZoomにて以下の5回開催した。第15回（2022年5月1日）①報告「18世紀イングランドにおける商業社会と宗教：バトラー、ペイリー、プリーストリー」松本哲人（松山大）、②報告「リードの思想形成とバトラー」長尾伸一（名古屋大・名）、第16回（7月10日）①報告「ウィストン『地球の新理論』（1696）のニュートン主義自然神学」中野安章（慶応大）、②報告「ジェームズ・マーティノゥの神学的倫理学―19世紀イギリスのユニテリアニズムの変容」舩木恵子（武蔵大）、第17回（9月25日）①報告「Political EconomyはTheologyに還元できるか：WatermanからOslingtonまで」有江大介（横国大・名）、②共同英文論文集の執筆者協議、第18回（12月18日）①報告「ヴィクトリア期のバトラー受容：ニューマンとアーノルド」小田川大典（岡山大）、②討論「有江報告を承けて：バトラーは、なぜ、経済思想に影響したのか」大久保正健（元・杉野服飾大）、第19回（2023年3月12日）①報告「マルサスの初版『人口論』（1798年）の弁神論を中心に考察する」森岡邦泰氏（大阪商業大）、②共同英文論文集の執筆者協議。以上の研究活動を通じて、共同英文論文集の出版契約を海外出版社と結び2023年中の出版を目指し原稿の最終調整に入った。ただし、コロナ禍により研究代表者が報告予定であった国際学会が引き続き中止となった。また、同様に、次の日本語論文集による成果発表のスケジュールがさらに1年延期を余儀なくされた。

18th century intellectual history and social influence on the face of the axis, today, the country is forgotten by the theologian, thinker. Butler (1692-1752) was rediscovered and the subject of this research was discussed. The above research activities were conducted through a joint publication contract with overseas publishers and a final adjustment of the manuscript in mid-2023. The International Academy of Sciences reports to the International Academy of Sciences. The results of the Japanese Language Collection were published in the same year and were postponed for one year.
