本研究は認知症高齢者の拠点になる認知症疾患医療センターに近い場所で、認知症高齢者とその介護家族が介護支援となるネットワークを日常的かつ長期的に維持できるコミュニティーシステムの創造を目指そうとするものである。家族並行介護支援プログラムにより、認知症高齢者にはグループ回想法を実施し、介護家族には並行して家族の会を実施する。これらの家族並行介護支援プログラムの実施後、認知症疾患医療センターの隣接施設内において認知症高齢者本人とその介護家族が引き続き参加するサロン形式のコミュニティー広場を創設し、自主的家族グループの形成を促し、定着させることを目的としている。2019年度は家族並行介護支援プログラムを3期実施し、延べ17家族の参加を得、フォローアップの会を2回実施し、のべ30家族の参加を得た。また、実践技術の向上のため、家族スタッフのスキルアップ研修を行った。このように認知症高齢者本人及び介護家族のプログラムへの参加状況は良好であったが、2020年2月、新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大防止のため、2020年1月開始のグループは2月14日を最後に実施中止になり、自主グループの開始も中止となった。2020年度もプロジェクトの再開はできず、2020年9月をもって、2020年度の全プログラムの中止を決定した。2021年度においても当初計画していたプロジェクトは再開できなかった。対面形式から遠隔方式の実施を検討したが、認知症高齢者本人の遠隔方式への適応の難しさと、介護家族の機器操作の負担の大きさ、遠隔方式による情報管理の困難さから実施を中止した。2022年度も引き続きプロジェクトは中止となり、これまでのデータ整理と分析を行った。研究発表においては、地域資源を活用した本研究の家族並行介護支援プログラムについて、実践の報告を行った。
