研究の第2年度であった2020年度に反転学習を2回試行するとともに、学習者に対するヒアリング調査をもとに、ファシリテーターの働きかけによってリメディアル教育としての反転学習に対する不安がいかに変容するかを探索的に検討することを予定していた。しかしながら、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大により、試行実験を行うことを予定していた研究機関の授業がオンライン化され、これにより、反転授業の前提となる対面・集合での学習の機会が確保できなかった。そのため、反転学習の試行、そして学習不安の軽減に有効なファシリテーションの方策を検討することができなかった。そのため、本来の研究最終年度である2021年度には、対面授業が実施できた春学期に反転学習およびそこでのファシリテーションを試行した。また、1年間研究期間を延長した2022年度には、反転授業を実践するとともに、そこでの学習者の学習不安や知覚された有用性、知覚された教材の使いやすさとの関係を検証した。具体的には、研究の第4年度は、①反転学習との実践：4ヵ月（4～7月）、②学習の評価、改善：2ヵ月（8～9月）、③実践結果の分析：3ヵ月（10～12月）、⑤実践結果の考察：3ヵ月（翌年1～3ヵ月）という手続きで研究を実施した。
