本研究では、教育のアクセスから質、公正性、学びへと優先事項が移り、初等および中等教育の修了が目標として掲げられるSDG4.1の下、初等・中等教育課程の子どもたちの個々の修学実態がいかなる状態にあるのか、明らかにすることを目的とする。特に、地域間の格差の発生状況に着目し、教育の質および公正性の観点から、その改善状況や方策を検討する。そして、地域特性の異なる3地域を考慮した検討から得られる知見を用いて、ホンジュラス国全土への提言に止まらず、同国に続く後発開発途上国への提言を引き出すことを試みる。研究4年目となる本年度は、前年度から引き続き現地の研究協力者の協力を得て、修学実態に関するデータベースの精緻化作業を行なった。また、現地のコロナ禍での学校の再開の様子についても引き続きモニタリングを実施している。このように遠隔での現地からの情報収集、データベースの更新作業を継続しつつ、新たな分析観点からのデータ分析を進めている。また、本若手研究としての研究期間終了年度を見据えて、特にコロナ禍がもたらした世界レベルでの学習機会の損失に着目し、本研究課題の将来的な拡大及び発展を目指すための検討を開始した。具体的には、本研究が主な対象とするホンジュラス国との比較を行うにあたっての、比較対象国の選定を検討している。その候補国の一つとして、カンボジアを対象に初等・前期中等教育の実態についての考察を行い、その結果をもとに国内学会にて学会発表を実施した。

The specific purpose of this study is to discuss the selection of target countries for comparison. The results of the investigation of the situation of primary and pre-secondary education in the candidate countries are shown in the table below.
