项目摘要

モジュラー形式とは、豊富な対称性を持つ関数であり、その対称性から多くの数論的な応用が得られる。モジュラー形式にはウエイトとレベルという二つのパラメーターがある。また、モジュラー形式の中で特にHecke同時固有関数と呼ばれるものが重要な役割を果たす。レベルが１の場合にはHecke同時固有関数は数論的によく振る舞うが、高レベルの場合にはそうでないものもある。高レベルのモジュラー形式の中では、新形式と呼ばれるものだけを扱うと、レベル１の場合と同様に数論的な応用に辿り着く。それは新形式がモジュラー形式と保型形式とを結びつける役目を果たすからである。新形式の局所版を局所新形式という。この理論があれば古典的なモジュラー形式論と現代的な保型表現論を結びつけることができると期待される。しかしながら、局所新形式の理論は現在ではほとんど発展していない。昨年度は京都大学の大井氏、北海道大学の安田氏との共同研究として、奇数次ユニタリー群に対する局所新形式の理論を確立した。他の先行研究では、局所新形式はRankin-Selberg積分の理論の応用として得られていたが、これは計算量が非常に多いという欠点がある。今回はそれは使わず、代わりに基本補題と呼ばれる定理の類似を示すことで、先行研究の理論を移送することにより局所新形式の理論を得た。基本補題とは現在の保型表現論における最高のリフティング理論である内視の理論の核心となる定理である。また、昨年度には古典群におけるラダー表現の類似を定式化することに成功した。ラダー表現とは元来は一般線型群の表現の一種であり、扱いやすいクラスのうち最も一般的なものである。現在の一般線型群の表現論では、ラダー表現から始まる帰納法を用いるものが活躍しており、本研究によって、そのような研究を古典群に拡張できる可能性を秘めている。
