项目摘要

本研究は、「美術教育を通したイスラムの実践」事例を、それに関係する人々の多様性も踏まえながら網羅的に収集し、現象を構成する要素とイスラムの教義とを対応させて構造化し理論構築することによって、イスラム文化と美術教育との関連性を包括的に明らかにすることを目的とする。タブー視されがちであったイスラムと美術教育との従来の関係性を超克し、ムスリムの子どもたちに適した美術教育の実現を見据え、イスラムの習慣や価値観に根ざした美術教育の基盤となる成果を提示することを目指す。今年度も引き続きコロナ禍の影響を受けたが、年度末（1月末）から国際共同研究加速基金（国際共同研究強化(A)）実施のためのイギリス滞在が始まり、基課題である本研究課題を同時に進めることも可能になった。イギリス滞在中に、現地の小中学校での調査を予定しているが、本年度はそのための準備（海外共同研究者との打ち合わせ等）と文献調査、またイスラム美術関連の資料収集などを行なった。具体的には、大英博物館やヴィクトリア＆アルバート博物館などのイスラム美術コレクションの他、現代のムスリムアーティストの展示やアート作品に関する研究資料の充実を図ってきた。イギリスでは、ブラック・アートに関する研究や美術教育実践が盛んである一方で、このようなイスラム美術に関する教育実践、特に現代的な文脈からのアプローチがまだ不足しているという現状がある。これまでに収集した研究資料等も参照しながら、教育現場における実態を次年度から探究してゆきたい。
