项目摘要

本研究の目的は、オリンピックと「大衆」が織り成す全体主義の理論的構造を検討した上で、オリンピック開催に伴う問題の真意を明らかにすることである。この目的を達成するために、2022年度は様々な文献を収集しただけではなく、「オリンピックと全体主義」に関する発表を所属学会主催のオンラインセミナーにて発表し、今後の研究の参考となる多くの意見をいただいた。特に、本研究はドイツの政治哲学者ハンナ・アーレントの全体主義運動を対象として文献研究を行っているが、アーレントがどのような理由から全体主義を批判しているのかを検討するには時間がかかる。多くの著名な哲学研究者から、参考となる本やドイツ語の文献などを紹介していただき、有意義なセミナーとなった。そして、全体主義運動は大衆運動であるとアーレントが指摘するように、「大衆」の存在と定義について議論を深めている。実際にオリンピックと同様の世界大会である女子ラグビーワールドカップ（ニュージーランド）を視察し、世界大会を実施する運営側や市民の動向、つまり「大衆」の動きを観察し、インタビューなどを通じて、ワールドカップが開催地にもたらす影響について検討した。また、同時期に開催された「第8回世界女性スポーツ会議」（ニュージーランド）にも出席し、オリンピックセッションに参加し、オリンピックが与える女性スポーツへの影響についてさまざまな知見を得ることができた。特に、オリンピックの女性参加率が増えていく一方で、差別やジェンダーの問題も浮き彫りとなることから、引き続き、オリンピックの支配構造についても検討していく。
