近年,地球規模の様々な環境問題が世界共通の課題として提起されている。同じ地球に生活する一人として,地球温暖化をはじめ,エネルギーを使うと起こりうると考えられている様々な問題について理解を深め,責任ある選択と実践を行っていくことは急務である。このことを子どもが身近な問題としてとらえ,日常生活の中で環境への取組を行いながら,環境保全や環境問題解決のための能力を育成していく必要があると考えた。そこで,自分たちの生活を振り返らせるとともに,様々な体験を通して,実感としてとらえにくい環境エネルギーに目を向けさせ,「自分たちに何ができるか」を考え,実行できる子どもの育成を目指したい。また,環境エネルギー教育を通して,もの(資源)を大切にする心や他に対する思いやりや感謝の心をも培っていくための学習単元構成の研究に取り組み実践した。事前の意識調査の結果からは,エネルギーについて漠然としかとらえることができずにいた。また,身のまわりにある「もの」に対して思い入れがなく;自分の「もの」も含め,身のまわりにある「もの」への執着が薄く常に新しいものを求めている現状にあった。そこで,年間を通して,総合的な学習の時間を中心に,各教科・道徳・特別活動を関連づけた単元を構成し実践していった。【成果】1 植物を育てる経験を通して,身近な自然や環境に対して注意深く考えるようになってきた。2 調べ学習を通して,地球環境やエネルギーについて知識が豊富になり学んだことを実生活にいかそうと一人一人が努力しはじめてきている。3 「省エネ教室」「電気教室」等を通して,知識と体験の両面から環境やエネルギーについて考えることができ効果的であった。4 「ものを大切にする」という視点からは,総合的な学習の時間では新聞作りを中心に活動し,学校・地域・家庭での「無駄」について調べ,「今,自分たちにできることは何か」を真剣に考える場となった。また,道徳の時間では,これまでの活動の再確認の場として,また一人一人の子どもの意識向上の場として効果的であった。5 環境新聞やたより等を発行し広く地域に環境問題やエネルギーについての理解と協力を得ることができた。また,参観日等にエネルギー関係の授業を実践したり環境やエネルギーと,もの(資源)の大切さについての意識の実態や相関関係が明らかにすることにより,今後の「地球規模における様々な環境問題について」の提言となり準むべき方向性を示すことができた。最後に,子ども一人一人に,もの(資源)を大切にする心や,自然や環境について豊かな感性を身につけさせたりすることは,今後も重要であると考える。一人一人が様々な問題を地球規模の問題としてとらえ「今自分にできること」を実行していく心が大切であると実感した。
