项目摘要

本研究の目的の一点目は、近現代の日本舞踊の一流派である楳茂都流の舞踊譜(大阪市歴史博物館所蔵)を調査し、草創期の日本舞踊研究に関する基礎的な情報として発表し、当該分野の研究に資すること、二点目は、舞踊譜の内容分析を通して、現在の伝統的な日本舞踊のイメージをくつがえす先進的な芸術であった日本舞踊の始原的形態、ならびに現在の日本舞踊へ到る伝統化の過程を明らかにすることであった。研究方法としては、まず大阪市歴史博物館所蔵の楳茂都流舞踊譜の写真を整理し、データベース化した上で、内容の分析を行った。目的の一点目に関わり、舞踊譜による舞踊の復原の可能性について検討した。現在も伝承される舞踊作品の舞踊譜を、ビデオ映像と比較した結果、演技者の自由度と判断されるわずかな差異は認められるものの、基本的に舞踊譜は演技者の身体の動きを詳細に記録しており、舞踊譜が実践的な資料として有用であることを明らかにすることができた。この成果に関しては、平成20年12月に第六十回舞踊学会大会において研究発表を行っており、論文を執筆中である。目的の二点目に関しては、舞踊譜の全体的な内容分析を行った。中でも、昭和3年から60年まで家元をつとめた三代目楳茂都陸平の舞踊譜について、内容の検討を行ったところ、第二次世界大戦後の日本舞踊が保守的かつ日本的なテーマを選択してきたこと、一般的に娯楽の多様化により伝統芸能の人気が低落したといわれる1970年以降、新作の振付が激減することなどを明らかにすることができた。本研究成果は、平成21年3月にアジア学会において発表し、日本文化の重要な表象のひとつである日本舞踊の従来イメージをくつがえすものとして、高く評価された。
