1研究目的本研究は、小学校音楽科におけるアジア伝統音楽の指導について、インドネシア・バリ、島に伝わる行列形態の打楽器合奏「ガムラン・バラガンジュールgamelan balaganjur」の表演特性に基づく教材開発を試み、児童の音楽行為を省察することを通して、この教材がもつ教材価値を明らかにする教育実践研究である。2研究方法バラガンジュールの表演は、演奏者同士のコミュニケーションを基盤に行われる。演奏が行われる状況の中で、演奏者同士が繰り広げる臨機応変な音楽行為を省察することで、教材としてのバラガンジュールの価値を分析するとともに、小学校音楽科授業における実践の可能性を探る。3研究成果(1)バラガンジュールの音楽構造が、「ギラッgilak」と呼ばれる基本旋律の繰り返しで構成されるため、小学校の児童でも個別の技能差に関わらず比較的容易に演奏に取り組めること。(2)演奏者同士が独自の合図を共有し、場の状況に応じて太鼓奏者が出す即興的な合図をきっかけに、一時停止、身体的パフォーマンスの挿入等、多様な表演ができること。(3)演奏者が特定の楽器に固定されず、一旦全てのパートを口頭伝承で習得するため、個々の奏者が常に音楽の全体像を把握して演奏でき、状況の変化に瞬時に対応することが可能であること。
