研究目的筑豊のおばあちゃんの語りを使った教材で学習した筑豊地区の子どもが、自分の郷土の歴史を知り、ふるさとを愛するようになることが目的である。研究方法筑豊のおばあちゃんたちの語りによる音声資料を、1,「いつでも、簡単に」視聴できるように整備する。2,学校などの教育現場で活用しやすいように教材として開発をする。3,継続的な実施のために、今回の取り組み全体をプログラムモデルとしてまとめる。研究成果上記方法の分類別に成果を示す。2,当初は複数の筑豊のおばちゃんによる聞き取りを対象としていたが、2011年1月に、戦前の坑内労働経験女性(橋上カヤノさん、1910年生まれ)に出会い、肉声証言保存の緊急性を考慮し、橋上さんに限定した音声資料の整備を行うことにした。取材、編集を重ね、映像制作者山本祐子氏の協力を経て、インターネット動画共有サービス(YouTube)に配信している(2012年3月20日現在2動画アクセス数合計158)。2,学校現場での教材開発については、飯塚市立大分小学校の中山雅子教諭の協力を得て、ヒアリング、指導案作成、パワーポイント教材作成と修正を行った。2012年1月24日、6年1組21人の児童に「わたしたちが暮らす『筑豊』」の単元の中で中山教諭が教材を使用して授業を行い、評価までを行った。(1)筑豊は好きですか、(2)筑豊はどんなところですか、(3)炭坑について知っていること、(4)炭坑について学習したいこと、の4項目について学習前・後の評価検証を行った。その結果、(1)については、学習前に「筑豊」が「好き」が5人、「だいたい好き」が16人だったが、学習後「筑豊について興味を持って学習することができましたか?」の問いに、「持てた」が14人、「だいたい持てた」が7人と高評価を得た。3,今回一校しか実施できず、教育現場での協力者探しに課題が残った。地域学習の必要性についての説得力と利用の簡便さが教育プログラムには要求されることが分かった。
