项目摘要

○研究目的:豊岡市所蔵和算書の調査研究を通して,和算の歴史やその社会的背景・和算の特異性を研究し,和算を1つの文化として捉えて,可能な限り教材化を図りたい。○研究方法:(1)和算書の解読・現代語訳を行う。また,現代解を行い,報告書・冊子等を作成し,市民に還元する。(2)豊岡市所蔵和算書の内容を整理し,「地域の和算」として可能な限り教材化を行う。○研究成果:(1)豊岡市所蔵和算書38冊(内15冊は未見)について,解読・現代語訳・現代解を行った。その結果,「截術」「算法適等■■」「天元算好巻之上」の3つの和算書については,報告書を豊岡市教育委員会に提出するとともに,豊岡市立図書館等へ寄贈することができた。3つの和算書については,いずれも初学者向けの教科書的なものであった。中でも「算法適等■■」では,旧出石町に現存する算額(1面)以外にも,2面の算額が出石神社等に奉納されたことが記されていた。調査した結果,残念ながら2面ともその存在は確認できなかったが,貴重な発見であった。また,「天元算好巻之上」では,日本学士院から取り寄せた同名の和算書との比較により1「両から円」への切替の問題が,新たな課題となった。この件については,平成25年度も引き続き,研究を進めて行きたいと考え散る。(2)「截術」は,前年度研究・教材化した「接術」と同じく,現代数学では「相似」に関するものであった。前者は,「図形を延長」する意味合いがつよく,後者は,「図形の切断」である。中学校に於いては,本年度から新学習指導要領が本格実施となり,第3学年で「相似な図形の面積比」「相似な立体の表面積比・体積比」を学習することになる。「截術」の問題は,その考え方を使えば,中学生にも解ける問題であった。新潟大学人間科学部山田和美教授に直接指導を受けながら,教材化を進めていった。38冊という多くの和算書であるため,1冊の本にまとめることが難しいので,来年度は,これまでの研究成果を,「ふるさとの数学玉手箱(第2集)」としてまとめ,教材化を進めていきたいと考えている。
