项目摘要

1. 研究の目的 : 高等学校の英語授業において、授業を英語で進める中で、実際の言語使用を想定した文法指導を可能な限り英語で行うための知識構成型ジグソー法の活動と教材を開発する。2. 研究の背景 : 高校英語授業では, 授業自体を英語コミュニケーションの場とするため, 英語により授業を進めることが求められている。文法指導ではメタ言語的操作が求められるため, 理解の局面では日本語による指導が不可欠だが, 運用につなげる局面では英語による指導を取り入れる余地がある。そのような指導を, 協働学習の手法を取り入れることにより実現させることを試みた。3. 研究の概要 : (1) FORMとMEANINGの関連付けが作られた文法事項について, USEの観点から, どのような場面・文脈で使用するのが適切かを考えさせるターゲット問題を提示する。(2)ターゲット問題を解決するために必要な知識を分割し, 3～4人グループのメンバーそれぞれにカードを渡すことにより伝える。各人は, そのカードに記載された知識に関する「エキスパート」となる。(3)各エキスパートが, 自分に伝えられた知識を出し合って, グループで協力してターゲット問題の解決に取り組む。必要に応じて各グループのエキスパートが集まって相談する「エキスパート・ミーティング」の機会を設ける。(4)各グループが考えた解決をクラス全体で共有し, 教員から必要なフィードバックを与える。ただし, 実際問題としては, 教員から訂正的なフィードバックを与える必要がなく, 生徒だけで正しい解決法を導くことができていた。(5)以上の指導過程において, 教員は指示・説明をすべて英語で行う。4. 研究の意義 : 英語で進める授業の流れを断ち切ることなく, メタ言語的な操作を求める活動を行うことが可能なので, 今般の学習指導要領が求める授業の実現に貢献する。また, 中学校においても試験的に実施し活動を成立させることができた。
