本研究は、人が文字認識できる漢字字形の範囲を、学年別配当漢字1006字をもとに具体的な文字形で抽出し、基礎データ化することを目的とする。科研期間中には、文字認識可能範囲のモデル作成および基礎データ化の方法の定位までを目指す。平成11年度は、平成10年度の予備調査の補正調査を行い、およそ次のような流れで、左右・上下構成の漢字の相互位置および線の方向に関するモデルを作成し、プレ本調査として部分的に試行した。1.モデルの作成平成10年度に選択した30の典型字例の中から、字形部分の位置関係および線の方向に焦点をあてた6文字を対象とした。モデルは、予備調査の結果をもとに、構成部分の水平・垂直の距離、傾斜および中心画の方向を操作して作成した。2.プレ本調査の実施予備調査の結果をもとに、視認可能・不可能の境界あたりの範囲をモデルの字形幅の中で切り出し、瞬間視認という方法で本調査を想定して行った。被験者は平成10年度と同じ大学生および中学生とし、予備調査の結果との比較をして補正の具合を確かめた。中・高年者への調査までにはいたらなかった。3.結果と課題構成部分の水平・垂直の距離および傾斜の場合は日常筆記では存在しない範囲に平均がとれ、線の方向については調査字例にかろうじて存在する範囲に平均がとれた。調査項目によって視認幅の広狭は確認できるが、文字指導との関連を図るまでの精緻なデータ化へは至っていない。研究を進めたい。
