本年度の研究においては、前年度の研究によって得られた知見及び仮説を検証し発展すべく、さらに広範囲のフィリピン型諸言語、特に台湾原住民諸語のヴォイスと能格性に関する現地調査とその分析を行った。その結果、以下のような知見が得られた。前年度の研究において、フィリピン諸語を中心とした調査と分析に基づき、フィリピン型のヴォイス体系を「流動型-分裂型-能格型/対格型」という連続体によって統一的に捉えるようなモデルを仮説として提案した。本年度の研究においては、この仮説を検証し発展させることに主眼を置き、前年度から継続的に、よりオーストロネシア祖語に近い文法体系を保持しているとされる台湾原住民諸語の現地調査と資料収集による言語データ収集とその分析を行った。その結果、台湾原住民諸語の中でもそのヴォイス体系と能格性には大きな多様性が認められ、方言によってはフィリピン型のヴォイス交替を示さないと見られるものもあったが、概ね上記のモデルによる統一的な説明が可能であることが検証され、さらに、上記モデルの通時的な応用の可能性が示唆された。そして、これらの成果を"Typological positions of Philippine-type languages and their voice systems"(「フィリピン型諸言語とそのヴォイス体系の類型的位置」)と題した論文にまとめ、第9回国際オーストロネシア言語学会(オーストラリア国立大学.2002年1月)にて発表した。上記のモデルは、フィリピン型諸言語のヴォィス体系と能格性に関する共時的な差異を統一的に捉えることを目的としたものであり、オーストロネシア祖語からの通時的な言語変化を説明することを意図したものではないが、能格性・対格性の発達基盤を説明する上で重要な示唆を与えている可能性がある。その関連性を確かめるためには通時的な観点からの検証が必要であり、このことを今後の課題とする。

This year's study was conducted in the context of knowledge and knowledge development, as well as in the context of competence analysis of Taiwan's indigenous peoples.
