项目摘要

本研究は痴呆性高齢者の環境行動を「問題行動」ではなく、人間・環境系における環境との関わりとして如何に捉え、記述し理解するかをテーマとした。知見から物理的環境のデザイン、及び痴呆性高齢者の環境行動のサポート(介護等に対して)という観点からの示唆を得ることを目的とする。研究では、「食事」の場面のビデオを用いた微細な観察による情報から環境行動を分析する試みを行っている。デプスインタビューによる知見の裏付けと共に、誰もが行うことのできる環境行動の評価の仕方を開発を試みるものである。この手法はコミュニケーションの困難な痴呆性高齢者の環境行動を理解する上で有用と思われる。現在、対象者の動きから注意の分散を捉えること、滞在の時間という二つの視点からの分析を試みている。例えば、周辺との環境との関わりをその場にいる人の頭の動き方等をスケールにすることを試行している。また、食堂に人が集まり立ち去るまでの時間、及び行為内容に着目した分析を行った。来年度の建築学会大会(2002.8)で発表の予定である(「高齢者居住施設における食事行動」)。研究ではこの他に、痴呆性高齢者の日常生活の一部始終を追う調査を実施し当事者が「説明できることの可能な環境」の重要性を明らかにした。説明の可能性には個人的な「もの」の環境が大きな意味を持つ。施設での痴呆性高齢者の「もの」環境は痴呆の程度が高いほど豊かとは言えない事が確認されたが、これは環境との関わりの可能性を小さくすることも意味する。研究論文としては「もの」の基礎的な分類、ADLや痴呆程度と分類されたものの量的な相関に関してまでを、日本建築学会計画系論文集551号(2002.1)に「環境移行における「もの」の意味に関する研究」として発表した。(この論文は本奨励研究上の成果であるが、調査データは今年度調査ではない。)さらに本年度調査(最終調査は2002.1)結果を分析考察し、続報の予定である。
