项目摘要

本研究は日本古代史研究における基礎的文献である『日本三代実録』について、日本文学の立場から注釈的研究を行うことによって、従来看過されてきた『日本三代実録』の持つ史書としての性格を明らかにしようとするものである。歴史資料として扱われることの多かった『日本三代実録』には、現時点において拠るべき注釈書が存在しない状態である。したがって本研究では『日本三代実録』の本格的な注釈書作成の足がかりとなるよう、どのような点に留意して注釈作業に取り組むべきかを念頭において、注釈事項の選定に焦点を絞った。本研究の最終年度に当たる今年度は、前年度までの成果を踏まえて、具体的に本格的注釈書作成のための注釈項目を掲出し、それぞれの注釈項目が『日本三代実録』理解にとっていかに重要であるかを逐条的に論究した。前年度までに当初検討を予定していた注釈項目の記述内容に関わる項目と記述形式に関わる項目とのなかで、主として記述形式に関わる項目に比重をおいて検討を加えてきた。いっぽう記述内容に関わる項目については、本研究の前段階でいくつかの項目を試掘的に検討したのみで、おおよそ全体像を窺いえるものではない。もちろん今回の研究のみで全五十巻に亘る内容に関わる注釈項目を見渡すことは不可能であるが、過去の試掘的な注釈作業の経験から本書の記述内容の中心に位置すると思考される、儀礼記事と天文記事とに焦点を絞ってさらに資料を収集したうえで検討を試みた。検討の結果得られた幾ばくかのデータを体系化して、『日本三代実録』の従来看過されてきた、史書としての記述の特異性を明らかにしえた。ひいては範とされた中国史書との差異をも明確に提示し、そのうえで六国史全般の特質に迫る足掛かりを得ることができた。
