Development of the Japanese GAEL Tests for the hearing-impaired children

许多研究听力受损儿童的机构正在使用为没有听力问题的儿童开发的测试。有人说，应该根据听障儿童的独特特点开发语言评估测试。因此，作者构建了一个日本GAEL测试，它是美国中央聋人研究所（CID）开发的GAEL Test（引出语言的语法分析）的日文版。日本GAEL考试根据儿童的年龄分测验。结果表明：(1)单独进行测试时，儿童的注意力能够集中在测试上。(2)由于测试采用会话式进行，故管理员可以在不受听障儿童感知和发音不良影响的情况下对其能力进行评估。(3)词汇和语法知识可以评估。

Many institutes for hearing-impaired children are using tests that are developed for children with no hearing problems. It has been said that a language assessment test should be developed according to the unique characteristics of hearing-impaired children. As a result, the author constructed a Japanese GAEL Test, which is a Japanese version of the GAEL TEST (Grammatical Analysis of Elicited Language) that was developed at the Central Institute for the Deaf(CID) in America. The Japanese GAEL Test consists of subtests according to the age of the children. The follwing results were found : (1)The children could concentrate their attention on the test when the test was adminisrated individually. (2)The administrator could assess the abilities without being influenced by the poor perception and pronunciation of the hearing-impaired children because the test was carried out in a conversational style. (3)Vocabulary and grammatical knowledge could be assessed.
