项目摘要

二世紀以上にわたるレッシング研究史においてもいまだに定まった解釈が存在しないのが、彼の神学的・宗教哲学的著作についての解釈である。筆者はハラルド・シュルツェとヴォルフガング・ゲ-リケによって示唆された、レッシングの神学思想とスピリチュアリスムス(Spiritualismus)の伝統との間の地下水脈的繁がりに注目し、隠された思想的底流としてのスピリチュアリスムスの伝統という視点から、レッシングの神学的・宗教哲学的思想を根本的に解釈し直すことを構想するに至り、三年計画でこの研究のプロジェクトを開始することとなった。その一年目にあたる平成六年度は、自らの研究作業仮説をより確かなものとするために、シュルツェとゲ-リケの基本的テ-ゼ-レッシングは本質的にスピリチュアリスムスの伝統によって規定されていたとのテ-ゼ-の検証に力を注ぎ、またそれとの関わりで西洋神秘主義思想史全般について理解を深めた。研究成果の一部は日本基督教学会第42回学術大会(1994年10月10日)にて口頭発表すると同時に、三万字ほどの学術論文に仕上げて『聖学院大学論叢』第7巻第2号(1995年1月発行)に寄稿した。西洋精神史の偉大な底流を形作るスピリチュアリスムスの伝統そのものについてはまだ確定的なことを言える立場にはないが少なくとも本年度行った研究によって、シュルツェとゲ-リケの問題提起が混迷を続けるレッシングの神学的解釈に新しい光を投じ、レッシング解釈のアポリアを打開する一つの新しい可能性を秘めているものであることが確かめられた。したがって研究の次の段階としては、レッシングの神学的・宗教哲学的思想をこのスピリチュアリスムスの伝統との精神史的連関において具体的に解釈し解明することであり、この課題の遂行が次年度の研究の主目標となるであろう。
