ソリトン方程式の代表的な考察こ行うために,それのunderlying structureであるアフィン・リー環およびアフィン・スーパー・リー環の表現論,およびfusion代数の構造を研究した。アフィン・スーパー・リー環の表現については,分母公式,指標公式を導き,それを特殊化することにより,いくつかの数論的な公式を導くとともに,それらのモジュラー変換を調べ,それによりN=2 super-conformal代数の指標のモジュラー変換の公式を導いた。また,アフィン・スーパー・リー環のcritical levelの表現を具体的な函数空間上に free field表示で構成した。Fusion代数は,無限次元リー環(アフィン・リー環,Virasoro代数,W代数など)の指標のモジュラー変換から,Verlindeの公式により構成されるが,有限群の表現論や頂点作用素代数の表現とも深く関係していて,或る意味でFourier変換の代数的な拡張とみることができる。 感覚的には,fusion代数は「表現空間の間の intertwining作用素の Fourier変換」と見ることが出来るかも知れない。そこで fusion代数それ自体に関心をもち,その構造を代数的に考察することを開始した。これまでに,次元が3以下のfusion代数の分類を行ったが,さらに研究を進めているところである。
