项目摘要

今年度は初年度なので、研究環境の整備及び資料収集とそれらの整理を中心に進めた。科学技術の振興は、わが国では明治維新以来一貫して受け継がれてきた政策課題であり、特に学校教育における理工系人材の養成には熱心であった。第2次世界大戦後も昭和30年代には大学の理工系学部の大幅な定員増が実施されるとともに、その後の科学技術の高度化、情報化の流れに対応して経済成長と産業人材養成のための基盤作りは進んできた。従って、関連の先行研究も1960年代、70年代は教育投資論を中心とする研究が多かったが、1980年代以後は産業・社会の成熟化に伴い青少年の科学技術離れの問題が指摘されるようになり、科学技術マインド培養の社会基盤の変化が指摘されるようになってきた。このような現象は先進工業国では共通の現象として現れており、欧米の研究者がイニシャチブをとった国際共同研究も盛んに行われるようになってきている。そこで本研究においても、1990年代に入ってわが国でも盛んに議論されるようになった大学理工系学生の製造業離れや中・高校生の理科離れの問題に関する議論やその流れを変えようとする学界・産業会の提言など理科教育や理工系教育の在り方に関する資料、及びそれらの意識を反映する世論調査のデータや報告書について、国内のみならず海外の資料についてもできる限り収集に努めた。これらの資料により、理論面・分析面の研究を進める準備を整えた。

This year, the center for research environment preparation and data collection has advanced. Science and technology revitalization has been a consistent policy issue since the Meiji Restoration. In the 1930s and 1940s, there was a significant increase in the number of faculty members in science and engineering departments of universities, and the advancement of science and technology and the flow of information technology in response to economic growth and industrial personnel training. In the 1960s and 1970s, there were many studies on education investment theory. After 1980s, there were many problems in science and technology separation of teenagers, science and technology cultivation and social foundation. This phenomenon is common in advanced industrial countries, and European researchers are working together to study it. This study was conducted in the 1990s in China, and the findings of the study were reflected in the report of the university science and engineering students on the issue of manufacturing and science education.
