オーストラリア・ウーメラに日豪共同で建設した10mチェレンコフ望遠鏡アレイを用いて超高エネルギーガンマ線の観測を行い、Velaパルサー星雲・超新星残骸RX J0852.0-04622・活動銀河核PKS 2155-304・パルサー星雲MSH15-52・HESS未同定天体J1804-216からのTeV領域ガンマ線の信号を検出し、これらの天体における高エネルギー粒子の加速現象に関する知見を得た。また、電波銀河Cen A・球状星団ωCen・超新星残骸SN1987Aおよびその近傍の天体・Kepler超新星残骸・銀河円盤の観測からはガンマ線フラックスの上限値を得た。これらは粒子加速の機構に制限を与えるものとなっている。こうして、銀河系及び系外天体における宇宙線の加速と起源を論じ、解明していくための多くのデータを得ることができた。
This is the first time that we have jointly built a 10m satellite. We hope that we can use the supernova supernova remnant RX J0852.0-04622 to move the core of the river PKS 2155-304.
