英文摘要
In this researching project I examined the process of constructing raga classification system at the beginning of the 20th century in north India. Old researches insisted that the musicologist, Bhatkhande used the south Indian raga classification system called Melakarta for extablishing the new system which would be suitable for north Indian music. However, this research clarified that there was another manuscript called" Ragatarangini", which Bhatkhande read and used for constructing the new raga system. This research clarified when Bhatkhande got the manuscript and how he used it for establishing new system.
