项目摘要

本研究の目的は、多文化教育の教材開発を行い、開発教材を実践にかけ、その教材開発の有効性を検証し、その検証を踏まえ、開発した教材を再構築することである。本年度は、①多文化教育の教材開発及び授業実践に関する資料収集及び②フィールド調査を中心に行った。①において、今までに蓄積された日本の学校教育における多文化教育の教材開発及び授業実践を中心に文献収集を行った。日本における多文化教育の研究は、これまで主に理論的研究を中心とし、比較教育学や異文化間教育学の分野を中心に制度的、政策的研究が進められてきた。一方、実践的研究として、カリキュラム開発・論がある。これらは、カリキュラム構成の原理やカリキュラム・デザインを提言・提案する研究である。海外のカリキュラム構成の原理やカリキュラム・デザインに関する提言を、日本の学校教育おける多文化教育の教材開発及び授業実践の中で、カリキュラムに具体的に応用・発展していくことの必要性が再確認された。②において、浜松市近隣の袋井市（静岡県）での多文化共生状況の調査、ハワイ移民資料館（広島市）における多文化教育教材作成のための資料・史料調査、津島市立東小学校（愛知県）での総合学習「津島市SDGs未来都市プロジェクト」からの地域課題に根差した多文化教育授業実践のための情報収集調査を行った。これらのフィールド調査から、地域の多文化共生の在り方を地域の結びつきや変容に着目しながら、多文化教育における教材開発の作成、過去に海を渡り世界の国々で移民として暮らしてきた日本人移民や日系人から地域に根差した多文化教育の教材開発の試みの重要性、児童生徒が地域の未来に関心をもち、積極的に地域社会に参画し、多様性の尊重及び社会正義の視点から考察することのできる教材開発が求められることが明らかとなった。
