This study intended to reveal problems of the management in the nursing universities by grasping the actual status of the nursing faculty's participation in management in the university of nursing. "Participation in management" in this study represents "the participation in the decision making process of the important matters of the management". 1459 nursing faculties of 54 nursing universities that are on completion by 2000 were subjected to the self-recording questionnaire survey. Statistical analysis of data obtained from 607 valid respondents revealed the followings.Faculties in the "national" institutes made less remarks in the faculty conferences than those in "public" or "private" institutes and tended to see the faculty conference as "formal". Faculties of the "public" institutes had a tendency to consider the university organizations as having the "unclear and busy" system. "Professors" thought the conference as "democratic", made remarks in the conferences relatively frequently, and saw the university organizations as having the "clear" system. On the other hand, "Assistants" thought the nursing faculty conference as "formal" and "unproductive", made remarks less frequently in the conferences, and tended to see the university organizations as having the "unclear and exclusive " system. The above results revealed the difference among the nursing faculties in the status of the attendance in and the perception of the decision making process, depending on the parent bodies of each institutes and the positions of the faculties themselves.
本研究旨在通过掌握护理大学教师参与管理的实际状况,揭示护理大学管理中存在的问题。本研究中的“参与管理”是指“参与管理层重大事项的决策过程”。采用自记式问卷调查法,对2000年前建成的54所护理大学的1459名护理系进行了调查。本研究以607位有效被访者为研究对象,进行统计分析,结果显示:国立大学教师在教师会议上的发言次数较公立或私立大学教师为少,且倾向于将教师会议视为“正式”会议。“公立”学院的教授们倾向于认为大学组织具有“不明确和忙碌”的系统。“教授”认为会议“民主”,在会议上发言比较频繁,认为大学组织有“清晰”的制度。另一方面,“助理”认为护理学院会议是“正式的”和“非生产性的”,在会议上发表言论的频率较低,并倾向于认为大学组织具有“不明确和排他性”的系统。上述结果揭示了护理学院之间的差异,在出席的状态和感知的决策过程中,取决于每个机构的母体和学院本身的位置。
