项目摘要

(1)これまでの研究成果の主要部をまとめ、アトラス「日本の近代化と土地利用変化」を作成し、刊行した。これは研究機関だけでなく、報道機関、政府機関、教育界にも広く配布され、大きな反響を呼んだ。(2)昭和20年代後半に発行された応急修正版地形図を用いて土地利用データファイルを作成し、既にできていた3時点のデータと比較し、土地利用変化を考察した。(3)都市用土地利用について、現代のミクロデータファイルを新たに作成し、明治大正期のデータと比較し、変化を考察した。(4)官製数値情報を重ね合わせて各種の地図を作成することにより、農業的土地利用の詳細を検討した。(5)昨年度までに作成した土地利用データファイルの点検・修正を行なった。(6)作成した一連のデータとプログラムを一般公開するための準備として、それらを表記する方法を検討し、提示した。(7)他の班と共同で作成する予定のアトラス「日本の近代化と環境変化」(仮称)の具体化に向け、内容・構成の検討と研究のとりまとめを行なった。(8)代表の氷見山は、8月にワシントンで開催された国際地理学会議でグループの研究成果を発表した。また昨年度旭川で開催した「環境変化と地理情報システム国際会議(INSEG'91)」のフォローアップミーティングを主催した。会議には外国人を中心に30名余りが参加し、重点領域研究の進行状況の説明や国際共同研究の呼びかけなどが行なわれた。(9)7月に開催された公開シンポジウムでは、一般向けにプロジェクトの紹介をするスライドショーを公表し、大変好評だった。
