项目摘要

1歳代半ばから就学前までの間に、子どもはかなりの早さで語彙獲得を達成する。これには生得的制約,認知発達などさまざまな要因がからんでいると思われるが、特に母親と子どもとの相互作用の中でこれがどのように達成されるのか、母親のどのような働きかけが子どもの獲得に影響を与えるのかについて検討した。相互作用においては、言語情報のみでなく非言語情報も母子間で共有され、そこから特定の意味抽出がなされていると考えられる。これまでのインプット研究は言語情報に限定されることが多かったが、獲得初期においては、非言語情報を含む複合的ユニットに対して子どもが注意を向け、そこからルールを抽出するような過程があることが考えられるだろう。このことを明らかにするためには、初期の獲得語彙とそのコンテクストを詳細に押さえていくことが必要である。このため、本研究では20組の母子について、13カ月、20カ月の縦断観察を実施し、母子の玩具を用いた遊び場面の分析を行った。分析は、母親の言語入力に関して行った。母親の発話を伴う働きかけ(もしくは応答)と子どもの行動との関係は、13カ月で母親が開始した相互作用のうち、平均41.6%がさし出すなどの普遍的動作であり、玩具の操作などの慣用操作が47.2%であった。そして、月齢が高くなると慣用操作が増えて来ることが見られた。動作と発声の内容については、特に母親開始の場合に事物名称の提示は少なく、13カ月、20カ月いずれの月齢においても普遍的動作の半数は動作語を伴っていた。一方、慣用操作には擬音・擬態語が伴われることが多かった。発達初期には擬音・擬態語が用いられていたのが、後に動作語に置き換えられることが推測された。この意味で慣用操作と共に用いられる擬音・擬態語は動作語への中間的言語と見なすことができるかもしれない。このような母親の働きかけと子どもの獲得の関連についてはさらに今後の検討課題とした。
