项目摘要

第1の目的は、人文社会科学、特に経済学、人文地理学、考古学において利用されている地理的要因を扱う方法を、空間情報科学の手法(GIS)を適用して高度化し、汎用性の高い手法集である「研究道具箱」を開発することである。第2の目的は、経済学、人文地理学、考古学をはじめ空間データを利用する人文社会科学の様々な研究を支援する「空間データ基盤システム」の開発と整備を行い、東京大学空間情報科学研究センターの支援受けて運営をすることである。当研究により人文社会科学分野における研究手法の高度化をはかることができ、必要とする空間データを使いやすい形式で容易に入手することが可能になり、空間データを使う多くの人文社会科学の研究を効率的に進めることができる素地ができた。具体的主な成果は、次の通りである。(1)効率的に3次元空間データを取得する手法を開発し、ティール遺跡の調査で活用した。(2)地域統計データ、都市圏データ、地価・土地利用データ、過去100年間の人口分布メッシュデータ、不動産文化財空間データなどの空間データを研究にすぐ使える形式で整備した。(3)空間データ検索システム(クリアリングハウス)を開発し、上記の空間データのメタデータを整備して運営をしており、人文社会研究用空間データをインターネットで容易に検索することができるようになった。(4)空間データ共用システムを開発し、上記空間データを搭載して運営をして共同利用しており、稼働してから2年間で100余りの共同研究が行われている。(5)空間分析の研究道具箱であるSAINF、FreeSAT、SANETなどを開発し、無料で公開している。世界の研究者に広く利用されており、国際的学術誌、ハンドブックにも紹介されている。上の成果を含む当研究プロジェクトの主な成果は、Studies in Human and Social Sciences with GISの本にまとめられ、CRC/Taylor&Francis社から2005年に出版される。

The first goal is to develop a "research tool box" for the application of the key factors of geography, methods of spatial information science (GIS) and methods of spatial information science (GIS) in humanities and social sciences, special economics, human geography and archaeology.
