Sub-project B3 will analyze the aerodynamic integration of a dual-bell nozzle into the launcher's architecture using a zonal RANS-LES approach and dynamic mode decomposition. Particular attention will be paid to possible mutual entrainment and coupling of the external wake flow with the nozzle-internal separation region in the sea-level mode. After the identification of relevant eigenmodes, passive and active flow control de-vices will be developed to reduce aerodynamic loads. Afterwards, the flow control concepts will be evaluat-ed at several points of the flight trajectory with respect to their effectiveness, efficiency, and off-design robustness.
