本研究は、韓国、台湾両国に高度経済成長をもたらしてきた諸要因を分析的に明らかにすることを目的にしている。わけても両国発展のための制度的・組織的枠組の有効性を明示することは、アジア開発途上国の経済開発のための教訓的示唆会を得るという問題意識に応えるところ大であるという考えにもとづき、この点に重点をおいて研究を進めている。両国はしばしば官僚資本主義国家と呼ばれ、経済発展における官の役割には著しく大きいものがある。発展に果たした経済官僚組織の有効性に関する研究に今年度も重点がおかれ、主として山田辰雄と中川昌郎の両名がこれを担当して報告を行った。また韓国の財閥、台湾における大企業と中小企業の効率連携の例にもみられるごとく、産業組織、企業経営組織における有効性を究明することもまた大きな重要性をもつと考えられ、川喜多喬と深川由起子の両名がこの面での研究を準備し、報告した。両国における改府ならびに民間の制度的、組織的な枠組は、儒教の文化的伝統と深いかかわりをもっているとみられる。官主導のもとでの発要、組織に対する忠誠、企業における・同族主義などは儒教的エートスの存在と無関係ではありえない。その意味で制度的、組織的枠組と儒教文化との関連についてもわれわれは関心をもっているが、栗林純夫がこの面での資料収集につとめ、資料解題のための報告を行った。渡辺利夫は以上の研究を総括し、韓国、台湾のマクロ経済分析に関する報告を行った。本年度を通じ、数回の研究会を開催し、研究分担者以外の多くの専門家のコメントを受けることができた。又た本研究にとって、中国の経験を参照する機会が必要であり、今年度は中国についての研究が同時に進められた。
