项目摘要

2022年度は、新型コロナウイルス感染症による影響を受け、事業開始が2023年1月まで後ろ倒しになった。そのような中であっても、成果を上げることができた。まず、当概年度は、研究を立ち上げるにあたっての種々の整備やデータの入手、データのクリーニングや加工、そして分析までの一連の作業行程を急ぎで行った。加えて、分析に至るまでの理論的な枠組みについても、基礎的な部分の構築に着手した。具体的には、西欧における政治社会学で議論・検討が行われている新しい政治的対立についての理論的な整理と、日本社会を説明する上での妥当性の検討を中心に行った。その結果として、次のような結果を得られた。個々人の階層的地位が投票参加／棄権と結びつく一方で、政党選択には大きく影響しないことが明らかになった。かつ、政党選択には西欧と同様に経済的対立と文化的対立の双方にかかわる社会意識が影響していることが明らかになった。具体的には、自民党への投票行動には再分配や福祉に対する否定的立場が影響している一方で、主要野党である立憲民主党は再分配や福祉に対する社会意識は規定要因として統計的に有意な影響があるとは確認されなかった。このような結果を受けて、日本における政党間競争と階層的地位の関係について議論を行った。この研究成果については、日本数理社会学会における報告として発表したものである。当該研究成果の意義は、階層的地位の多寡が、55年体制後に変容した日本の政党間競争の中において、どのような意味を持っているかを、包括的かつ実証的に示した点にある。
