Study on nonlinear modeling of the cardiac arrhythmia

本研究的目的是基于心肌细胞的非线性特性，建立心律不齐的数学模型，并揭示模型的数学性质；稳定解的分形结构和混沌行为的可能性。最终目标是了解心律的控制机制，并将这些知识应用于心脏性猝死等致命心律失常状态的诊断和预测。我们的研究项目包括三种方法：建模、动物实验和临床病例分析。在资助期内，我们完成了以下两类异位起搏器的相位响应曲线（PRC）的验证。(1)完全性房室传导阻滞临床病例的PRC估计及统计学评价。(2)室性搏动12导联及动态心电图临床病例模型参数辨识。主要成果发表在参考文献中。未来的研究包括开发更有效的模型全局参数识别和心律失常诊断的自动化GUI系统。

The purpose of this study was to develop mathematical models of abnormal rhythm of the heart (arrhythmia) based on the nonlinear characteristics of the myocardial cells, and to reveal the mathematical property of the model ; e.g.a fractal structure of stable solution and the possibility of chaotic behavior. The ultimate goal would be the understanding of the control mechanism of the heart rhythm, and application of this knowledge to the diagnosis and prediction of fatal arrhythmic state such as sudden cardiac death.Our research project consisted of three ways of approach : modeling, animal experiment and analysis of clinical cases. Within the period of the grant-in-aid, we have achieved the verification of the phase response curve (PRC) of ectopic pacemaker in the following two categories.(1) Estimation of PRC and the statistical evaluation for clinical cases of complete AV block.(2) Parameter identification of the model for clinical cases of 12-lead and Holter ECG of ventricular parasystole.Major results were published as the papers listed in the REFERENCES.Future studies include development of more efficient global parameter identification of the model and the automated, GUI system of arrhythmia diagnosis.
