1.醍醐寺所蔵史料の調査 昭和62年8月17日より1週間, 醍醐寺において, 所蔵資料の現地調査を実施した. 調査を行った所蔵史料の箱番号は, 231, 293, 301, 344, 407, 416, 514, 517で総計8箱である. 調査に際しては, 史料1点ごとに調書をとり, 同時に写真撮影を行った. 史料の総点数は約1000点, 撮影の総コマ数は約10000コマである. 撮影フィルムは現像ののち, 一部について紙焼を作製した.2.醍醐寺関係史料のデータベース化 (1)従来蓄積されてきた醍醐寺関係史料についてデータベースを作製した. (2)8月の醍醐寺史料調査で得られた史料の情報を整理したのち, データベースを作製した.3.醍醐寺関係史料の収集 今回の調査で得られた史料以外に, すでに諸々の機関が収集蓄積してきた醍醐寺関係史料についても調査し, 同時にポジフィルムを作製した.4.醍醐寺の建築・法会・美術その他の調査 (1)建築 上醍醐寺の開山堂と如意輪堂, および醍醐寺の寺域全般にわたる調査を実施した. (2)法会 古来から醍醐寺で勤修されてきた仁王会(五大力)の調査を実施した. (3)美術 上醍醐寺の五大堂に安置される五大尊について調査を実施した. (4)その他密教関係寺院において史料調査, 法会調査を実施した.5.密教法会と建築空間の考察 研究の打合わせのための会合は計9回開催され, 建築史, 芸能史, 日本史, 美術史の各分野から研究報告がなされた. 本年度は調査, 研究が進んだこともあって, 醍醐寺史に関する詳細な報告, また史料調査で得られた新知見をもとにした考察がみられた. また醍醐寺の密教を日本の密教全体のなかでどのように捉えるべきか, という大きな問題についても討論が行なわれた.

(2)The investigation and implementation of the Law Society since ancient times have been carried out in the Temple of Daigo. (3)The five halls of the art temple are arranged in the five great halls of the temple. (4)5.
