项目摘要

児童・生徒の因果関係に関する理解(または誤解)を事象の認知と言語理解の両面から調査し、理解の困難点やそれに対する援助の方法を明らかにすることを目的として、前年度におこなった(1)物理的、心理的、数学論理的内容についての因果的推論の特質を明らかにするための(ア)文章完成テスト(イ)推論的文章の適切度評価テスト(2)2×2分割表の分布から相関関係をよみとるときのストラテジーの調査(3)(要因分析の理解を中心とした)実験報告の読解調査、等の補充調査をおこなうとともに、(1)物理現象における因果関係の説明を求める際に「何がそのことをひきおこしたか」、「・・・のようにするにはどうすればよいか」「どうすればそうなるのか」など、目的の異なる説明を求めて因果関係把握の難易度や質的特徴をみる調査(2)因果関係に関する仮説を確かめるために必要な実験を工夫させる調査(3)人間関係や社会的事件に関して因果関係と考えられることを挙げその根拠を説明させる調査や、人間関係や社会的事件について常識的に言われている因果的説明について根拠や反証を考えさせる調査などをおこなった。調査結果のなかで最も注目されることは、中学生においても、因果関係に関する仮説は挙げてもそれを確かめるため適切な実験を考え出すことが極めて困難であったり、人事的社会的事件に関する因果判断において、適切な根拠も反証も挙げることができないなど、因果関係に関する命題を確かめることが不得意だというだけでなく、証拠や反証の有無をみずから考える必要性も感じていない点である。児童・生徒の知識観、真理観に関する研究として今後も調べていきたい。
