平成2年秋に日本で開催される第4回底生有孔虫国際シンポジウムのために、全般的企画の立案、準備期間中と会議開催時における運営事務分担事項の検討、会議前後および会議中に実施する巡検の地域選定と具体的実施方針の検討、巡検予定地域における事前調査と関係者との打ち合せ、会議資料の作成、国内外研究者との連絡などを行うことを計画し、次のように実施した。1.事務局を研究代表者の所属する東北大学内に設け、計画推進のため在東北地方の研究分担者により幹事会を結成し、会議を随時東北大学において開催、計画構想をまとめるとともに、連絡事務を行った。2.国内外に配布するサ-キュラ-を作成、印刷のうえ、7月に発送した。また周知を目的としてポスタ-を印刷・配布した。3.分担者による打ち合せ会議を12月2日東北大学において開催。幹事会において練った会議計画の構想の総括と経過の報告、会議場、招待講演者の顔ぶれ、会議における業務分担などの決定、宿舎関係の手当の方針の検討、巡検予定地域についての予察調査の報告、案内書の内容・形式の検討、執筆者と現地案内者の決定、今後の会議関係出版物や運営方針などについて審議した。4.国内における学会の年会・例会の際に夜間小集会を開催し、研究分担者をはじめ、有孔虫研究に関心を抱く研究者に国際シンポジウム計画の進行状況を伝え、意見の交換を行った。地質学会(茨城大学、1989年5月4日;横浜国立大学、1990年4月4日予定);古生物学会(早稲田大学、1990年2月3日)5.巡検予定地に関する実地調査を行い、地質資料(英文)を分担者が執筆、これを編集して印刷した。
