项目摘要

The Japanese and Korean members of the project met at Seoul National University and discussed cooperative investigations on the biodiversity of coastal benthic organisms in Japan and Korea. The Japanese members collected papers published for coastal benthic organisms in Korea and learned about published studies and present status of studies on coastal benthic organisms in Korea.The Japanese members visited northeastern parts of the Korean coast in December, observed the present conditions of the coast and collected several samples of benthic organisms. One of the members (E.Kikuchi) also visited western coast of Korea and observed mainly benthic animals in December. Another one of the members (M.Notoya) visited southeastern parts of the Korea and made observations of the coast and collection of seaweed samples.Comparative studies are going on between the Japanese and Korean coastal benthic organisms in consideration of various reports on Japanese intertidal benthic plants and animals.
